Vicente Amigo, born in Guadalcanal Seville in 1967, was raised and lived in Cordoba since he was five years old. He got his first guitar when he was 8 years old. At the Cordoba guitar academies, he became one of their most outstanding students of Juan Munoz and Merengue de Cordoba. Today Vicente Amigo is considered as one of flamenco's best and most innovative guitarists and composers. The professional career of Vicente Amigo started as an apprentice of the legendary guitarist from Cadiz, Manolo Sanlucar with whom Vicente worked together for about 10 years, playing the third flamenco guitar in his group. After this period, Vicente accompanied flamenco singer El Pele. As a duet, Vicente Amigo and El Pele succeeded in setting a new trend in contemporary flamenco by showing how deep, profound and intense the connection, between a flamenco singer and guitarist, can be. Vicente and Pele released the albums ‘La fuente de lo jondo’ in 1986, participated by Isidro Munoz, brother of Manolo Sanlucar and the album ‘Poeta de Esquinas Blandas’ in 1990. In 1989 Vicente Amigo worked together with the legendary Camaron de La Isla on the album ‘Soy Gitano’, winning the prestigious Ramon Montoya Award. In the same year In 1989, Vicente Amigo began his solo career.
The long awaited 6th solo album Paseo de Gracia was released in May 2009. Paseo de Gracia is a flamenco album focusing specially on the harmonies for which Vicente Amigo is known, his unique expression. It is enriched by amazing arrangements making this album outstanding and different. On "Paseo de Gracia", guitar playing is accompanied by artists such as Enrique and Estrella Morente, Niña Pastori, Alejandro Sanz, Rafael de Utrera, Pedro Heredia, Miguel Ortega, José Parra, Lin, Nani Cortés (vocals), Tino di Geraldo (drums and percussion), Antonio Ramos “Maca” (bass), Alexis Lefêvre (violin) and Paquito González (percussion).
